We get asked all the time how you can use your GorillaPod with your iPad, iPad Mini, or Galaxy tablet. Well, our friends at Tether Tools have a great solution for attaching just about any any 1/4-20″-mounted accessory—like all of our GorillaPods—to your tablet. Using the Wallee iPad/Tablet Case and a Tether Tools Connect Lite you can add GorillaPod legs to your tablet. Now you can achieve your ultimate viewing angle, whether that’s reading a book, watching movies, surfing the internet or checking emails.

The GorillaPod’s flexible legs allow you to adjust the position of your tablet for a comfortable resting position across your body while reclining, in your lap for comfortable viewing while seated, or even wrap the legs around the arm of a chair or wheelchair. The Wallee Case provides a secure fit without getting in the way of key features for all iPad models and Galaxy 10.1 Tablets. The Tether Tools Connect Lite connects case and Pod, and because you can mount any 1/4-20″ accessory to it, it is a super versatile, modular solution. Because the Tether Tools Connect Lite is 1/4-20″ screw compatible, you could even use your JOBY camera strap with your iPad if you wanted to give you GorillaPod a rest!

How to Painlessly Transfer Images from Your iPhone

I’m not sure about you, but I am always annoyed when it comes time to transfer photos from my iPhone to my computer. I’ve got thousands of photos on my phone, but only about 50 are new and actually need to be added to my library. So when I sync my phone, I know I’m sitting down to a few hours of quality time with my iPhoto while it sorts through repeat photos. Sound familiar?

Lucky for you and I, Carlos Arrieta is here to make our lives easier! Carlos is a San Francisco-based photographer and photography instructor at RayKo Photo Center and in this video he shares how to easily transfer photos between iPhone, iPad and computer using the Transfer App. Thanks Carlos for making our lives easier and quicker!

Friday Finds: Yogi in Mac Life, Tilt-Shift Photography, Celebrity Portraiture

By | Friday Find, Photography, Press, Uncategorized | No Comments

Well Creactives, I guess I am not as tech-saavy as I had once thought. I had pre-written and scheduled a delightful Friday Finds post for last Friday while I was off wine tasting in Napa—tough life!— but it didn’t ever publish. I’m sure you all missed me dearly, and so this week you’ll get to enjoy my post from last week and a whole new slew of finds from this week!

First on the docket, GorillaMobile Yogi was featured in Mac Life magazine along with some other fun and functional tech accessories. Right on Yogi!

Tilt-shift photography— a technique were everything in the scene looks delightfully miniature— has become increasingly popular thanks to Photoshop and several iPhone Apps. Photojojo just dug up a neat point and shoot camera that has a built in tilt-shift ring that allows you to shoot both photo and video in the characteristic tilt-shift style. I must say the GorillaPod video was made for this camera and I hoping one show up at the JOBY office soon. Here are a few images from Photojojo shot with the Tilt-Shift Camera.

Doesn’t that look fun! I’m dying to see what the video looks like!

In September, the Aperture Foundation will publish “The New York Times Magazine Photographs”, book of photographs taken by a panorama of photographers for the New York Times Magazine over the past several years and edited by Kathy Ryan. I’ve always been impressed by the quality of the photography in the Magazine and the sneak peak of the book on the Times’ photography blog did not disappoint. Each photograph in the book with be captioned with behind the scenes information about the shoot— the photographer/gossip in me is particularly excited for these juicy details!

The blog slideshow featured celebrity portraiture and below are a few of my favorites: Clint Eastwood, Diane Keaton and Leonardo DiCaprio. The stylistic range of the photography is just captivating.

Have a wonderful weekend Creactives! See you next week!

GorillaMobile Ori and GorillaMobile Yogi for iPad have arrived – Rounding out the GorillaMobile line

By | Gorillamobile, New Product Launch, Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Today, at CES Unveiled, JOBY is launching two new iPad products with distinct users in mind. After researching and observing how people interact with their iPads we realized that there are two very different types of iPad users. We wanted to provide each of these users with the ultimate positioning experience so they can enjoy reading, cooking, or watching movies for hours without sacrificing their neck.

GorillaMobile Ori for iPad is designed for  the professional who seeks to get maximum the productivity on-the-go  of their iPad. Inspired by the art of Origami, the Ori easily folds into ergonomic positions, allowing you to comfortably push the limits of the iPad.

Check out our fun stop-motion, Origami video  entitled “Morning Folds to Night” to find out more about how the Ori works throughout the day:

For more in depth information on how this super lightweight, protective case + stand works, watch Eric walk you through the positions:

For users, who prefer to cuddle up with their iPad and use it in uneven and comfy situations like lying  on the couch or the bed, the GorillaMobile Yogi for iPad allows for total flexibility in all environments. With chunky, playful legs that wrap around nearly anything, the Yogi makes itself at home easily in nearly an infinite number of poses to maximize your iPad experience.

So, really it just boils down to, what kind of iPad user are you?
