Breaking down the iPhone Timelapse

He shares all his tips and tricks for how to maximize your iPhone and capture the best timelapse video in his post A Day at the Library. One great tip … set your phone to airplane mode so text messages, emails and calls won’t interrupt your video-making. Read the rest of the very thorough article on his blog.

Friday Finds: Gorillacam – now appearing in books, Medieval towns and Grocery Store Face Plants

Happy Friday!

We were pleased to find out this week, that our enormously popular iPhone app, Gorillacam,  has been featured in not just one, but two different books.  How to Create iPhone  Photos by Allan Hoffman and iPhone Obsessed by Dan Marcolina both show off the Gorillacam app but the latter also features the lovely GorillaMobile for iPhone 4.

This beautiful film about Medieval Walls in Ferrara Italy by Giorgio Fochesato is shot in black and white and is an eerily beautiful vision of a UNESCO Heritage site.

The GorillaMobile Yogi won some new fans this week, due to it’s playful adaptability.  In iLounge, the “highly recommended” Yogi, was praised  for being “as close to truly great as any such accessory has come for the first-generation iPad.”  On the other side of the pond both GorillaMobile Yogi and GorillaMobile Ori were reviewed by CNET.

Friday is here, and the sun has finally appeared. We are literally wearing wool and suede here, in the not-so-summery San Francisco August.

While this theoretically could get a little repetitive there is something so ninja-cool about this video of swinging through windows. Captured with a Gorillapod Magnetic, it comes complete with post-activity grunts.

Bed Making Gorillamobile and Gorillacam Style

Ahh, the joys of constructing – Ikea style. This time-lapse video taken with a Gorillamobile and Gorillacam is a study in what putting together an Ikea bed is supposed to be like. For the most part everything goes smoothly, he doesn’t spend hours the way I do hunting for tools which I happen to be sitting on.  Nevertheless the result is pretty entertaining, especially the headless wife inspecting the work at the end. Added bonus, the background music is sure to make you start doing a little dance at your desk…It’s tricky!

Best Gift for Tech Moms

To celebrate Mother’s Day WPIX, a local news affiliate  in New York, welcomed Rebecca Dogin, the Executive Editor from thenest.com, to suggest great last minute gifts for moms. The Gorillapod Magnetic with its adorable wrapping legs and magnetic feet was selected as the Best Gift for Tech Moms. Our little guy was so embarrassed by the attention that  its feet turned red, but I think we’ll all get over it.

What do you Joby Gorillapods and George Clooney have in common? Other than being both so ruggedly handsome, of course. Apparently we are both hip enough to appear in the Weekender Version of Urban Daddy.

This great image by Jez Page in the Gorillapod Love flickr pool caught my attention. I love the hint of the Ferris wheel behind the beautiful building, a little bit of modernity poking into the photograph.

Yippee! Over 1.5 Million Gorillacam Downloads to Date

It’s official! The Gorillacam, Joby’s free iPhone camera app, has been downloaded over 1.5 million times!

Since launching just a few months ago the Gorillacam, built by AppTight,  has pushed to the top of the charts. After receiving  rave reviews from the likes of the New York Times,  MacLife and Wired, we are thrilled to reach this  new milestone and look forward to celebrating many more.
